Setting Up a Windows 9x Dialup Connection to connect to Æsoft
Windows 9x uses a facility called Dial Up Networking to make connections to the internet using a Dial-Up Account.
To locate Dial-Up Networking in Windows 9x follow these steps:
- Double click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop
- Double Click the "Dial Up Networking" icon in the "My Computer" window
If you cannot find the Dial Up networking icon in the My Computer window, then the Dial Up Networking portion of Windows 9x
is not installed. Click here for information on how to install Dial Up Networking.
If you haven't set up any connections using Dial Up Networking, the Make New Connection wizard will automatically begin.
If a dial up networking connection, (to anybody) has already been set up, the wizard will not run and you will need to double click the 'Make New Connection' icon to start the wizard.

Type a name for your connection to Æsoft. It is usually not necessary for you to
select a device. This should automatically be filled in by the Connection
wizard. Click next to continue...

Enter the dial up phone number as shown, then click Next to continue...

Click Finish to end the "Make New Connection" wizard, but WAIT... We're not done yet!

The new connection you have just set up needs a few adjustments to be set up correctly.
To begin, point your mouse to the icon of the connection you've just set up and click
the right mouse button. Then select Properties from the pop up menu.

After the Properties Box appears, click the "Server Types" tab. The following screen will appear...

At this point, UNCHECK the 'Log on to Network', 'NetBEUI', and 'IPX/SPX Compatible' check boxes. After doing that, click the TCP/IP Settings button to continue. Enter the following information so that your window looks just like this picture...

Click the OK button twice amd that's it! You're done... To use your new connection, Double click it's icon, fill in your username and password and click "Connect".
